Mario Balotelli has again hit out at Manchester City director Brian Marwood and is “absolutely sure” Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not call him mediocre.

The Italian international was on target in last night’s 3-1 win over Denmark and gave a brief interview to comedy show Striscia La Notizia.

He was presented with the traditional ‘Tapiro d’Oro’ trophy after it was reported Ibrahimovic had said he was “a mediocre player” who belonged in ‘mediocre’ Barcelona rather than Real Madrid – something agent Mino Raiola has firmly denied.

“I really doubt he said that. In fact, I am absolutely sure he didn’t say it,” replied Balotelli.

Manchester City director Marwood told the media that SuperMario was “not a good example” for the club or its youngsters.

“Some things ought to be said to your face,” snapped Balotelli. He had already sent a pointed message to Marwood after last night’s game.

Finally, the striker commented on his decision to get back together with pregnant girlfriend Raffaella Fico.

“I will certainly be a good Dad.”
