Reports this morning indicated that either Balotelli would arrive on a subsidised loan, or the Reds would have to let him go for free.
Now Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports that the forward has taken his medical, and the clubs are very close to agreeing a permanent transfer.
Nice would pay around €4.5m for Balotelli, but Liverpool are negotiating for a substantial part of any future fee, in case Super Mario gets his career back on track.
