Davide Ballardini wants ‘more aggression and character’ from Genoa after their 1-1 draw with Roma.

The Griffone earned an unexpected point against the Giallorossi after Gianluca Lapadula equalised from the penalty spot at Marassi.

However, the Rossoblu Coach does not believe his team did enough to force a win considering Roma played out the final 20 minutes with just 10 men.

“It was a match played with the head and with organisation against a very good team,” Ballardini told reporters.

“We can do better given that the team is always well prepared on the pitch. We need to be more aggressive.

“We need more character in order to hurt the opposition.”

Ballardini was asked whether his players became scared when Daniele De Rossi was shown a red card for slapping Lapaudula round the face.

“Yes, these great teams can still find space and give you problems.”
