Davide Ballardini still won’t be drawn on his Genoa future after they broke clear of the drop zone. “I don’t need to convince anyone.”

The Grifone practically secured their top flight status for another season with the 1-0 victory over Crotone.

The Grifone practically secured their top flight status for another season with the 1-0 victory over Crotone.

“We were very impressive in the first half, both going forward and defending, but started to feel a little tired after the break,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Although Crotone were pushing hard for an equaliser, we still had several chances to add another goal and finish the game. I want to thank everyone in the squad, because they’ve all been very humble and happy to work for the team.”

Ballardini took over from sacked Ivan Juric in November and has transformed their fortunes, but doesn’t yet know if he’ll be at Genoa next season.

“I don’t need to convince anyone. Genoa started out in one way, then we arrived and had to make our ideas work together with the characteristics of the players at our disposal.”
