Ultras from both Rome clubs are outraged after police introduced new measures which have seen segregation down the middle of both ends of the stadium.

It has been suggested that fans could boycott the Derby della Capitale, but the Giallorossi director says a compromise is close.

“Stricter measures have been introduced at the request of those responsible for public order,” Baldissoni explained at today’s shareholders’ meeting.

“What we’re doing is trying to find a position of normality. Normality, for us, is to go to the stadium freely, within the rules, but in the context of joy and not militarisation.

“We’re close to finding a solution, without living in this atmosphere of pressure which is becoming a noticeable problem.”

Club President James Pallotta has come in for criticism too, with some fans suggesting the American does not spend enough time in Rome.

“We take note of the requests for Pallotta to have a greater presence, but he’s constantly working for Roma.

“All the initiatives and sponsorships always come from work done by his office. He’ll be in Rome very soon, and after that [he’ll be here] much more frequently.

“He’s very close to the team, and we speak every day.”
