Milan have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea over Tiemoue Bakayoko and should let Tommaso Pobega move to Torino this summer.

The French midfielder is set for a return to the Rossoneri, as Sky Sport Italia reports Bakayoko will move to Milan on loan with an option to buy.

Multiple reports in Italy claim it’s a ‘done deal’ and Bakayoko himself gave a hint on Twitter by posting two hourglasses.

Bakayoko spent last season on loan at Napoli and seems set for a return to San Siro, where he spent 2018-19, and will be back for his third stint in Serie A.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio thus reports Pobega could be on his way to Torino, as he will be pushed further down the ranks with Bakayoko’s arrival.

Pobega spent last season on loan with Spezia and has been linked with moves to other Serie A rivals this summer too, including a move to Cagliari, who arrive at San Siro this weekend.

  1. Yeah. If people can’t see the obvious political direction Milan (among many other clubs) has taken… I don’t know.

    Not my team anymore.
30+ years of time and money spent on this is enough.

Good bye AC Milan. See you in hell.

  2. I see a specific type of players beeing bought. A specific kind of people. Elliot and Singer are known for their hard work to bring about “inclusion” and “diversity.”

Milan has taken the bait and I would expect them to find a much easier way back to the top now than under say, the chineese ownership.

Keep football out of politics or let it rot.

  3. I fully agree with keeping politics out of sports, and there are cases where I do see issues from American politics creeping into our club, but I disagree that’s the case here.

Specifically in this case, as of course you know, Baka has played at Milan before and did well. Every year since then he’s been linked to return, and finally now that is happening. So Baka joining seems to be neither surprising nor unwarranted. I haven’t really watched Pobega play but I have to assume Pioli doesn’t think he’s as good as Baka otherwise we’d stick with who we already have.

For our transfers in general, Tomori of course is a known quantity to us and did very well last season, so it makes sense to buy him. After that, well, we get who we can at the prices we can afford, and if they want to join us. I don’t believe for a moment that “diversity” enters at all into the picture of who we buy.
