Tiemoue Bakayoko has reportedly turned down Adana Demirspor for the second time in a week, so will remain at Milan on loan from Chelsea, even if he hasn’t played at all this season.

The midfielder has become a controversial figure at San Siro since arriving for his second spell on loan for €3m in August 2021 with option to buy for a further €17m, becoming an obligation if he makes 15 appearances of at least 45 minutes in this season.

Eager to avoid activating that obligation, the Rossoneri have not used him at all in the current campaign and tried desperately to off-load him in the summer, then again in January.

Moves to Adana Demirspor and then Cremonese collapsed, while today Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims attempts to revive the Turkish route have also been dashed.

Bakayoko has decided to remain at Milan and hopes to help them see out the rest of the season.

At that point, he is expected to return to Chelsea, where his contract runs to June 2024.
