The Colombian striker told La Repubblica about his decision to join the Rossoneri after lifting the Europa League for the second year running.
“I am still 29 and don’t want to stop now. Milan is the right place for me. I didn’t choose this club because of money, as I would’ve earned more in China, Saudi Arabia or England. I was fascinated by the objective of getting back into the Champions League.
“For the past three or four years, Milan have not been where they belong. Now they have strengthened and have a Coach with clear ideas.
“It wasn’t easy to leave Sevilla, where I was happy with my wife Shayira and two children. I played in the League that I used to watch on TV as a child, but I am not afraid of challenges and responsibility.”
Much has been said about Bacca working as a fisherman until making his mark in football at a relatively late age, but he insists that’s not entirely true.
“That story comes from the fact my parents worked in that field. I like the analogy with Milan great Gennaro Gattuso, as he owns a fishing boat. The rest is true.”
