Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar assures “I want to stay here”, but won’t be drawn into Scudetto talk.

The Viola are joint-top of Serie A, ahead of Inter by virtue of their better head-to-head record, and face Tuscan neighbours Empoli this weekend.

“With the Coach [Paulo Sousa] we don’t talk about the Scudetto,” Babacar insisted, speaking to reporters as he received an award from the Consiglio Regionale.

“We work day-by-day, and we take things game-by-game. We want to hold on to top spot until the end.

“Do I want to play more? Yes, of course, just like everyone, but right now I’m working so that I’m ready when called-upon.

“Transfer rumours? I’ve only read about them, but I want to stay here and that’s it.”
