“We do analyse the situation and try to understand what mistakes were made over the last few months,” Ausilio told Mediaset Premium.
“All the positive things we’ve done allow us to be here talking about a Champions League spot, as we are only one point off fourth place and must give our all this evening.”
The recent setbacks, with only one win in over two months, stepped up the pressure on Coach Luciano Spalletti.
“There is no need to express our faith in the Coach, as we are all together and share the same objectives. Inter are all one element. The Coach knows what to do and the numbers are relative, even if we won’t disguise this has been a negative period.”
The other controversy that has surrounded the Nerazzurri is around Icardi’s contract after his wife and agent Wanda Nara declared there were two big clubs interested.
“We are in constant contact with Icardi’s agent, aimed at the common goal of seeing if the future can be shared together and above all it’ll be done in silence. The more talk there is, the more decisions get bumped down the road.
“We want to engage in action, not words, and make sure everyone is in the right condition to give their best on the field.
“If you list all the players in the squad, you’ll realise we are not that poor. There are many big names here, including several watching from the bench, because this team was constructed with a certain logic to target a Champions League place.”
