There continue to be mixed reports on Lorenzo Insigne, with Napoli trying to sell now for under €30m, while Diario AS suggests Atletico Madrid will wait for him to become a free agent.

The captain is nowhere near to agreeing a new contract and his current deal expires at the end of the season.

He expected a pay rise after winning UEFA EURO 2020, while it’s reported the Partenopei are if anything offering a substantial cut from his existing salary.

According to Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Atletico Madrid have let Insigne know that they are prepared to wait for him to become a free agent and snap him up next summer.

The 30-year-old is on the market for as little as €25-30m, with Inter, Everton, Zenit and Tottenham said to be interested.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Insigne told Napoli teammates that he is giving a summer departure some serious thought.

A great deal depends on the options available to him, as Napoli would prefer to sell their star man abroad, while he might be more inclined towards remaining in Italy.

Many other reports suggest Insigne is more than happy to remain at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for this season and then see what developments there are.
