After a recent blip in form that yielded three consecutive defeats across League and Cup, Diego Simeone’s men are back on track, according to former full-back Carboni.

“Atletico have renewed enthusiasm after the defeats in the Cup to Real Madrid and in the League to Almeria,” the 48-year-old has told Premium Calcio this week.

“David Villa is available [after injury], in the winter market arrived Diego Ribas. They are a strong team.

“Atletico exert pressure and their recovery of possession and their set-plays remain very good.”
