The Brazil-born centre-back is making the change late in his career, as he is already 30 years old.
However, he is also in the form of his life, helping Atalanta to the Champions League Round of 16, the Coppa Italia Final and battling for a top four finish in Serie A.

FIFA have also accepted a request from the FIGC to make Toloi available for selection by Roberto Mancini and the Italy squad.
Toloi now has 11 goals under his belt in 192 competitive games for Atalanta.
He did play for Brazil at Under-20 level, but not as a senior player.
