Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi will be available against Atalanta tonight and could make his first appearance in almost two months.

The Azzurri star has been out of action since August 30 due to a bicep injury, so he’s missed the last five matches for the Neroverdi and didn’t join Italy for the international break in September.

Sassuolo boss Alessio Dionisi confirmed at a press conference on Saturday that the 28-year-old would be available at the Gewiss Stadium tonight when the Neroverdi visit Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta.

It remains to be seen if the Italy international will start in Bergamo, given that he is still getting back in shape.

Emil Ceidé is likely to start in attack along with Andrea Pinamonti and Armand Laurienté, so Berardi could be introduced in the second half.

The Italy star is the most prominent player in the history of Sassuolo, having scored 122 goals in 330 appearances at the Mapei Stadium.

He netted two goals in five appearances across all competitions this season, before his injury.

Hamed Junior Traorè will also be available for Sassuolo tonight and could make his first appearance this term.

He missed the opening stages of the campaign due to a metatarsus fracture but had been among Sassuolo’s best players in 2021-22 with seven goals in 31 matches.
