Atalanta’s director general Pierpaolo Marino has rejected claims that the club have made an offer to veteran striker Pippo Inzaghi.

The Orobici were reported earlier on Wednesday to have already offered their former forward, who spent the 1996-97 season with the club, a 12-month contract.

Inzaghi, who won the Capocannoniere title during that single season with the Bergamo outfit with a club-record 24 goals, is available this summer after his release from Milan.

However, Marino has rejected suggestions that a reunion between Atalanta and the 38-year-old is on the cards right now.

“I have heard the reports relating to Inzaghi, but again none of them are true,” the dg told TuttoAtalanta.com.

“At this moment in time, we have made no official move for Pippo Inzaghi.”
