Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini is on the verge of a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, on loan with option to buy worth €15m, claim reports in Italy.

Sportitalia, Sky Sport Italia, Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com all maintain the clubs have agreed basic terms.

It will be a loan for one season with an option to buy in June 2022 for €13m plus up to €2m in bonuses.

The final details are being whittled down, but it seems there will be a clause making this an obligation to buy if he reaches a certain number of appearances for Spurs.

Tottenham could also ask to extend the loan for another season, with a payment plan already worked out.

Gollini had been sharing the gloves in Bergamo with Marco Sportiello last season, but dropped further down the pecking order when Atalanta spent €20m to buy Juan Musso from Udinese.

This is set to be Gollini’s third stint in England after an experience with the Manchester United academy, then playing for Aston Villa in 2016-17.

Atalanta purchased him for €4.4m in 2018 and still owe Villa 10 per cent of any future transfer fee.

The 26-year-old shot-stopper also has a sideline in his career as a rapper, releasing a record under the name Gollorius – Rapper with Gloves.
