Tottenham Hotspur hope to include Davinson Sanchez in a potential exchange deal for Atalanta defender Cristian Romero, claim Sportitalia.

There are now multiple reports of Spurs interest in Romero, who has also been linked with Barcelona and Manchester United following his impressive performances, especially for Argentina when winning the Copa America.

According to Sportitalia transfer pundit Gianluigi Longari, Tottenham are aiming to include an exchange as part of the deal to lower the fee.

The player he specifies they are offering to Atalanta is Colombia international defender Sanchez.

The 25-year-old was signed from Ajax in 2017 for €42m and his contract with the London club runs to June 2024.

He has 35 senior caps under his belt for Colombia and would welcome reuniting with his fellow Cafeteros Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata in Bergamo.

It remains to be seen whether Romero is ready to leave Atalanta just yet, especially as they just qualified for the Champions League for the third year in a row.
