Cagliari insist that Davide Astori won’t be replacing Thiago Silva at Milan this summer following the latter’s switch to Paris Saint-Germain.

Astori is one of numerous centre-backs being linked with the Diavolo, but the Rossoblu are adamant that he is going nowhere.

“Astori won’t be moving this year, we’ll have to see about next summer,” Cagliari President Massimo Cellino noted.

“He’s not for sale because we don’t want to lose him and because he wants to stay with us.

“If my friend Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani asks me for him? As he’s my friend, he has promised not to do that.”

Astori, 25, is a product of the Milan youth system. He joined Cagliari in 2008 and rejected a big money move to Spartak Moscow earlier this month.

The stopper was named in Italy’s preliminary 32-man squad for Euro 2012, but failed to make the final cut.
