Ex-Parma star Faustino Asprilla claims he would be worth €300m in today’s market and Duvan Zapata should leave Atalanta “if he wants to win something”.

Asprilla was considered one of the world’s best attackers in the early 1990s, winning silverware with Parma before a £6.7m move to Newcastle United in 1996.

That fee, however, pales in comparison to the €44m Juventus have invested in Dejan Kulusevski, despite the youngster having only half-a-season of top-level football behind him.

“[Kulusevski] is a great talent but, considering the money that’s going around, I’m not surprised at the price,” the 50-year-old told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If he costs so much then I was worth €300m!”

The Colombian was then asked about countryman Duvan Zapata, who has enjoyed another prolific campaign for Atalanta.

“He’s 29 years old and in the best spell of his career. With all due respect, I don’t think Atalanta can go beyond third or fourth place.

“if he wants to win something, he should at least consider changing teams.”
