The Nerazzurri are believed to have agreed personal terms with the Croatia international, but Real Madrid insist he will only be allowed to leave if another club pays the €750m release clause.

Marca reported that the Merengues were offering a new contract, potentially doubling his current €6.5m per season salary, while AS claims this afternoon that Modric has made his decision to stay.

Modric would’ve been proposed a four-year contract with Inter and another two years at their sister club Jiangsu Suning in China.

This morning, he also posted an image of himself in training with the phrase: ‘Back to work!’
