It’s reported Roma’s €8m offer for Gervinho is not considered enough by Arsenal, but there’s optimism for a compromise.

Giallorossi director of sport Walter Sabatini met with Gunners chiefs this afternoon in London and presented a proposal worth €8m – approximately £6.9m.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the response was that Arsenal want €10m – around £8.6m.

There is thought to be optimism that the two clubs can reach an agreement with further negotiations.

It’s suggested Roma will meet Arsenal again next week to continue talks for the Ivory Coast international striker.

It is also possible the Giallorossi will try to include Pablo Daniel Osvaldo as part of the deal, as they are eager to off-load the forward.

There are reports Roma offered Osvaldo to Arsenal, Tottenham and Fulham during their London visit.
