On the peninsula Juventus and Inter are said to be closely monitoring the player ahead of potential summer bids, with Sampdoria already keen to offer an improved contract to the player.

Schick currently has a €25m written into his deal, with President Massimo Ferrero looking to increase the previously agreed amount. This may become a more pressing concern with news from the Daily Mail of English interest.

According to the English newspaper, the player’s agent Pavel Paska is due to meet both Arsene Wenger of Arsenal and Tottenham chief scout Steve Hitchen over a potential move to the Premier League.

It should be noted, however, that the source for the story may well be a previous story by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Following that story, Schick's agent described the rumours as "absolute nonsense".
