Monza still haven’t closed out a deal with Arsenal for Pablo Mari and talks have reportedly hit a stalemate, keeping the interested Hellas Verona in the race.

The Gunners are working on selling the 28-year-old Spanish defender following his return from a six-month loan spell in Italy with Udinese. Contracted to the North London side until 2024, Mari looks set for a return to Serie A and two clubs in particular are keen on picking him up.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Monza have offered Arsenal a loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause attached for Pablo Mari. The clause would be activated if the Lombard side avoided suffering relegation.

Monza are now waiting for a response, but things have seemingly hit a stalemate as Arsenal consider their options. Silvio Berlusconi’s club are still confident that a deal can be agreed, but Hellas Verona are closely monitoring the situation, ready to make a move if Monza don’t secure a deal for Mari.
