Arsenal and Spartak Moscow are vying for Inter forward Stevan Jovetic, according to reports.

The Montenegrin international joined the Nerazzurri from Manchester City last summer, on a season-long loan with the obligation to buy for €14.5m.

Despite a promising start, however, Jovetic managed just six Serie A goals, and Corriere dello Sport believes he will not stay at San Siro while Roberto Mancini is Coach.

Spartak Moscow are believed to have spoken to the player and his entourage on several occasions, with more talks planned for the coming days.

There is no problem regarding wages, as the proposed deal would see Jovetic earn more than he does at Inter, but it’s thought the 26-year-old may have doubts about moving to the Russian league.

The forward would prefer a return to the English Premier League, and Corriere dello Sport insists Arsenal have expressed interest in recent days.

It would cost at least €14.5m to sign Jovetic, as that is the fee the Beneamata are obliged to pay to City.
