Antonio Conte’s suggestion that Mikel Arteta ‘complains a lot’ has clearly annoyed Arsenal fans but it also gave Inter fans something to laugh about.

The Italian coach spent two years in charge of the Nerazzurri, winning a Scudetto, before taking over at Tottenham last year. Conte is known to be a passionate and fairly honest coach, who is not afraid of speaking his mind to the press, and his apparent jab at Arteta last night has certainly caused a reaction.

Conte said in a press conference after the North London derby win over Arsenal: “He complains a lot. He has to focus on his work & continue to work because he’s very good. To hear someone complain all the time is not so good. At Liverpool do you hear me complain about Fabinho? No. He can take my advice if he wants, but if not I don’t care.”

Arsenal fans are predictably angry following the accusation, with many highlighting his various complaints during his time in charge of Spurs, whilst others looked back at the time that he was accused of failing to report two incidents of match fixing, which ultimately left him with a four-month touchline ban.

Inter fans, on the other hand, found the hilarity on the situation, remembering his numerous complaints over his two-year period in Milan.

  1. INTEr Fans and Conte. Perfect dream team. Both complain about everything but are still crying about others. THese Double standards

  2. Another none Inter related article and army of Juve cry babies to find more opportunity cry more
and we can clearly see who is whining here, from fans to Lord Max Allergri!

By the way, Conte is a Juve legend, so no wonder why he whines a lot!

  3. Manager bickering. This sort of stuff makes legend of Ancelotti to a fairy tale level. At least I have never seen Ancelotti say bad things about a colleague – in term of tactics (Ala klopp), refereeing (Mourinho and most other managers), scheduling. Etc). Ultimate gentleman.

  4. I’m kind of confused here, he said Arteta complains too much and you brought in he refused to report a match fixing and he consequently gut banned for 4 months? So ? what’s the link between these 2 situations? We all know Conte complain about his employers and team than he complains about opponent , complaining a match loss and the referee decision and complaining about a club owner not investing enough are two different issues, so most of comments on here are out of point.

  5. Yes he complaining lots. but he complained his own team. conte never complained about other team. while klopp and arteta always find excuse when they defeated and blame opponents.

  6. So Conte:
    – complains about his own clubs and own players
    – Complains about other managers’ complaints
    – Guilty of match fixing in the past

    Do I get that right?
