Argentina stars, including Paulo Dybala and Angel Di Maria, sent messages to Joaquin Correa and Nico Gonzalez, who have been ruled out of the World Cup because of injuries.
The Inter striker and Fiorentina winger suffered injuries during preparation for Qatar 2022. Nico has sustained a muscle injury, while Correa is dealing with a tendon issue.
Both players expressed their disappointment on social media. Correa said that he “can’t explain” how sad he is in words and will support his compatriots from the outside.
Nico admitted that his injury is a “huge blow” that will prevent him from accomplishing every kid’s dream, insisting that he’d return to action “stronger than before.”
Several Argentina teammates have shown their affection to the Serie A pair on social media. Among them are Di Maria, Dybala, Leandro Paredes and Papu Gomez, but also former Napoli striker Pocho Lavezzi.
