Inter striker Mauro Icardi has failed to make Argentina’s Copa America squad, but Juventus’ Paulo Dybala is included.

Icardi had already been a contentious choice for Argentina, amidst reports Messi does not consider him welcome due to his alleged affair with Wanda Nara when she was still married to ex-Serie A journeyman Maxi Lopez.

However, he seems to have paid for his midseason exile with Inter and run without a goal from open play since December.

On the other hand, teammate Lautaro Martinez has been selected for the tournament.

Elsewhere, Dybala makes the cut, despite an inconsistent campaign with Juve, alongside Fiorentina defender German Pezzella and Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul.

There is also a place for Messi, who will be looking to end his career-long wait for a major international trophy in Brazil.

Copa America takes place between June 14 and July 7 and sees the Albiceleste paired with Colombia, Paraguay and special guests Qatar in Group B.
