Alberto Aquilani claims Mohamed Salah told him ‘some time ago’ that he was unlikely to stay at Fiorentina.

The winger was on-loan from Chelsea for the second half of last season, but opted to veto a return for the upcoming campaign, with allegations that Inter had turned his head.

“I’m surprised by the management, the Press releases, the chaos,” Aquilani, who played with Salah last season, told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Not by the situation itself. He had already told me some time ago that he wasn’t at all convinced he’d stay.”

The Viola had put out a Press statement stating they were considering legal action against Salah, with the player’s agent then hitting back and calling them ‘pathetic’.

A war of words has also opened up between Fiorentina and Inter, with the suggestion being that the Egyptian international will end up at San Siro.
