Alberto Aquilani admits “my dream would be to end my career at Roma” and targets an Italy return.

The midfielder joined Sporting CP this summer after leaving Fiorentina, but would like to end his career at the club where it all began.

“My dream would be to end my career at Roma,” Aquilani told Chi in Portugal.

“I know it’s something that will be difficult, but in football you never know.”

The former Liverpool man then discussed his move to Portugal, and admits he retains Azzurri ambitions.

“As soon as my agent alerted me to the offer of moving to Portugal for three years with Sporting, I didn’t hesitate.

“I have to goals here: to get back into the Italian national team, and win the trust of [CT] Antonio Conte.”
