Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli says the Partenopei will do their best to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and provides updates on Hamed Traoré, Zambo Anguissa and Andrea Belotti.

The Partenopei are close the securing the services of 21-year-old Kvaratskhelia. Il Corriere dello Sport has reported that the Georgia international has already undergone medical with the Azzurri.

“We have been following him for a long time and we will do our best to bring him to Naples,” Giuntoli told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“He is one of the first players on our list for physical, financial and technical parameters.”

Financial parameters will also be crucial in the race to sign Traoré from Sassuolo.

“Every top club likes him, but it’s not the right moment to think about it,” said Giuntoli.

“After two years of COVID, we need to keep an eye on the books and then build the team.”

The Serie A side have also been linked with Andrea Belotti, who is available as a free agent. “He is a great striker but we already have Victor Osimhen, Dries Mertens and Andrea Petegna, so I don’t think we’ll do something in attack. Let’s s see what will happen in June.” Mertens sees his contract expire in the summer and Napoli haven’t yet offered a new deal for the Belgium international.

Mathías Olivera is on Napoli’s radars to strengthen their defence in 2022-23. “He is a good player with different characteristics from Mario Rui. We are interested, but we are also following other players.

“Anguissa has played very well this season and we want to sign him permanently, but the final decision will arrive at the end of the campaign.”

The Cameroon international moved to the Stadio Maradona in the summer on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for circa €15m. The 26-year-old has played 27 games across all competitions this season but has yet to score his first goal at the Stadio Maradona.

  1. Petegna has proven to be a disappointment in attack and scoring. Hope they can find a way to keep Mertens. Glad to see Insigne leaving. Belotti would be a good addition.
