Adriano Galliani has returned from Madrid, and says Carlo Ancelotti will either return to Milan or stop for a year.

The Rossoneri’s joint-CEO has been in Spain this week attempting to convince the former Real Madrid Coach to return to San Siro, and earlier said the chances were 50-50.

Speaking to assembled media as he arrived at Malpensa airport, the director repeated that claim, reiterating that a decision will be made on Wednesday after Carletto has spinal surgery.

“What’s new? Well, nothing happened on the plane,” Galliani laughed, when questioned about the situation.

“Carlo has said that it’s 50-50, so hopefully that will become 100 per cent. We talked about a lot of things.

“He needs to have his surgery, then talk to the doctors. We’ll only have an answer after the operation.

“If he doesn’t come to Milan, he’ll stop for a year, that’s what Carlo said.”

Galliani was less forthcoming on potential moves for Mario Suarez and Mario Mandzukic of Atletico Madrid.

“You’re not going to make me say anything. Goodbye.”
