The Coach was sacked last month, despite winning the Bundesliga at his first attempt, amid reports of difficulties in the locker room.

Now Hoeness reveals the issue wasn’t so much with the former Milan, Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid boss, but those working with him.

This includes fitness trainer Giovanni Mauri, his son Francesco, assistant coach Davide Ancelotti (the Coach’s son) and Carlo’s son-in-law, nutritionist Mino Fulco.

“Ancelotti’s assistants did not fit in at this club,” Hoeness told Bild newspaper.

“With Carlo it wasn’t a problem, everything was ok with him, but every day there was a fight between the physios, the doctors and Ancelotti’s fitness coaches.

“In an environment like that, you can’t work problems. For example, they even argued over who sits where on the bench. These became more important things than the game itself.

“All this is not good for a football team in the long run. Now with Jupp Heynckes in charge, all the employees – physios, masseurs – they just get along smoothly. There is a completely different mood now.”
