Carlo Ancelotti detailed Real Madrid’s ambitions ahead of their UEFA Super Cup match against Eintracht Frankfurt next week.

The Italian coach returned to Los Blancos last summer after a two-year spell in the Premier League with Everton, and he immediately brought the team to glory, guiding them to both the Champions League and La Liga titles. In the process, Ancelotti became the first coach to win all of Europe’s top five leagues, a sign of his adaptability and quality in the dugout.

Speaking to UEFA’s media department, Ancelotti first discussed Real Madrid’s condition ahead of their Super Cup match against Eintracht Frankfurt.

“My players will come prepared, being so professional. We want to bring home another trophy in the first match of the season. We have six titles up for grabs and we want to fight for all of them.”

The Italian coach reflected on Los Blancos’ impressive season last year. The team finished 13 points ahead of second place Barcelona and secured their 14th Champions League title.

“I’m really proud, for me and for Real Madrid it was extraordinary. Coming back to this club has given me so much satisfaction.

“The Fourteenth is still a fresh memory, a special chemistry was created with our fans. All the comebacks we made came in our stadium, thanks to the boost from the stands. We won, in addition to quality, thanks to the unity of the squad.”

He spoke about some of Real Madrid’s work in the transfer market this summer.

“Rudiger and Tchouameni bring quality, we signed two of the best in the world in their roles for physical and technical ability.”

Finally, Ancelotti gave his thoughts about Eintracht Frankfurt and their season last campaign.

“They deserved to play for the Super Cup, last season they did something extraordinary. They were not favourites, but they won thanks to great games, even beating Barcelona at Camp Nou on the counterattack.

“It was great to see them win the Europa League in this way, they will definitely create difficulties for us.”

  1. Come on. Right back is still a very big worry. Carvajal is too injury prone and no one else is good. There is no cover for Benzema and the right wing can be an area if weakness especially when Carvajal is out. These areas should have been addressed. Cover for Benzema is needed otherwise its fighting for second in la liga and semis for the champions league. Stop the naive arrogance and sign two players.
