Carlo Ancelotti believes Milan can qualify for the Champions League, and praises “innovative” Vincenzo Montella.

The Rossoneri are currently third in Serie A, having failed to qualify for European competition for the past three seasons in a row.

The Bayern Munich Coach won two Champions Leagues and the Scudetto in his time on the Diavolo bench, and has given his assessment of the current side.

“I have positive feelings,” Ancelotti told Tiki Taka.

“Milan have gone with a policy based on young people and moderate investments and things have gone well. Interesting players have come through and their position in the table looks good.

“I hope next year they can taste the Champions League.”

Ancelotti was also asked about Vincenzo Montella, and is impressed with the former striker.

“I know him, he came to training for a week when I was at Chelsea. He has interesting ideas, he’s quite innovative and he seems very competent.

“In general, Italian Coaches are doing well and proposing good football.”
