Everton coach Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly the favourite to succeed Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.

The speculation regarding the next Madrid coach continues to fill up the Spanish newspapers, as Zidane decided to leave the post after a trophyless season with the Merengues.

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Mauricio Pochettino as their head coach and the Argentine is thus not an option for Los Blancos.

Raul is currently the Real Madrid Castilla coach and the club legend could make the leap to the top position, whilst Antonio Conte’s requests has put a potential move to the Spanish capital on stand-by.

Conte left Inter after winning the Scudetto and Marca claims his demands where too high, including his personal salary and reinforcements wanted for the squad.

The newspaper then mentions a surprise move for the Toffees coach, who still has three years left on his deal at Goodison Park.

The Italian coach is, according to the report, willing to return to Madrid and is at the moment the favourite to replace Zidane.

The 61-year-old spent two years at Santiago Bernabeu, between 2013 and 2015, helping the club win the Champions League, the Copa del Rey and the FIFA Club World Cup during his time with the club.

Ancelotti was also named the World’s Best Club Coach after the highly successful 2013-14 season.
