Carlo Ancelotti has said he will decide whether to take the Milan job on Wednesday June 3 and the chances currently stand at 50/50.

The former Rossoneri boss has been in discussions with Vice-President Adriano Galliani at the Wellington Hotel in Madrid and has set next Wednesday as his decision date.

Ancelotti spoke briefly to MilanChannel when leaving the hotel following the discussion.

“I’m always on good terms with Galliani and we’ll decide on June 3,” he said.

“Will I take a sabbatical year? We’ll see.”

Galliani spoke in more detail to SportMediaset after the meeting, confirming the date for a decision and explaining that it was currently in the balance.

“Carlo will give a definitive response next Wednesday,” he said.

“According to him we have a 50/50 chance, those are his words. But this counts for nothing – it will become 100 or zero.

“Let’s see what Ancelotti says, for now we have a league match and in any case the bond with [Pippo] Inzaghi will not end.

“It’s a bond of affection and esteem. I called Pippo before leaving so he was informed of this trip, it was the least I could do.

“The President is very busy, I’m here with his consent  and approval. Proposing a contract to Ancelotti is the decision of me and my President.

“We came here, affection aside, because no other Coach in the world has a CV like Carlo, who has coached Juve, Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.”
