Carlo Ancelotti reiterated the Coppa Italia “is one of our objectives for this season” and Napoli will not sell Allan to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Partenopei beat Sassuolo 2-0 this evening to set up a quarter-final clash with his old club Milan at San Siro.

“There are four to go, even if the next is very tough and exciting. We’ll end up playing Milan twice in three days between Serie A and the Coppa, so that will be a strange one for me,” the Coach told Rai Sport.

“The Coppa Italia is one of our objectives for this season and we’ll give our all. With the squad at our disposal, we have to fight it out on level terms with everyone.

“If we won’t take first place in Serie A, as we are a little behind in the table, then we can still fight for second. We had the right approach this evening and you never know after a winter break how the team will react.”

Ancelotti was asked about the continuing reports PSG will offer up to €80m for Napoli midfielder Allan.

“Allan is our player, we don’t need to discuss anything with the President, because there are no big moves on the horizon. I hope the transfer window closes soon so we can all focus on our football.

“I was never concerned at losing Allan, because he had a fantastic first half of the season and we hope he’ll do even better for us going forward.”

Kalidou Koulibaly is suspended in Serie A after his red card against Inter, although the club has lodged an appeal to have his two-match ban reduced.

The Senegal international reacted at the end of a game in which he had received consistent racially-charged insults from the crowd, with the referee allowing play to continue.

“It’s just a detail. I don’t know if the ban will be revoked, but we raised the issue, the authorities are looking at it and we hope there will be more clarity, more responsibility in taking action.

“People shouldn’t act as if it’s a tragedy to interrupt a match for a few minutes. We do it for heavy rain. A temporary interruption could I believe help people reflect a little more on the problem.”
