“Carlo was very open from the first moment to listen to Napoli’s proposal,” lawyer Vincenzo Ziccardi told Calcionapoli24.it.

“There was an initial contact from Aurelio De Laurentiis, then some intensive and clear negotiations. The Coach is very satisfied.

“I think the clarity of the President’s intent and his desire to win proved crucial, seeing as Ancelotti is a winner. On top of that, Napoli have a very strong squad and there is the belief they can do well. All this affected Ancelotti’s decision.

“He was also swayed by the city, the fans and the desire to challenge himself, his wish to return to Italy and face Serie A. It’s a coming together of factors that prompted him to accept.

“Seeing Ancelotti’s smile, and that of his staff, was satisfying. There was incredible energy throughout from all sides in the negotiation process.”
