Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti believes conversion rate is the only thing Karim Benzema and Erling Braut Haaland have in common and sees a future as a coach for Alessandro Del Piero.

The Italian tactician is set to face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals in Madrid on Tuesday.

All eyes will be on star strikers Benzema and Haaland and Sky Sport Italia asked Ancelotti what the pair has in common.

“They are totally different. They have a high conversion rate but they are different,” he said.

“Benzema is more involved in the build-up, while Haaland is physically very strong. It will be a pleasure to see them play.”

A year ago, Ancelotti eliminated Guardiola and Man City from the Champions League semi-finals.

“Guardiola has done something important in football and is continuing to do so,” said Ancelotti, when asked about his relationship with the Spanish tactician. “He gives a clear identity to his teams and it’s always nice to meet him because he is a lovely person.”

Alessandro Del Piero has recently met Ancelotti and the Real Madrid boss believes the 2006 Italy World Cup winner should start a career as a coach.

“I’d advise him to do so because he can continue living in the world where we’ve grown up,” said Carletto.

“It all depends on his desire to do so. It’s demanding, but he can be involved in a world we love 24 hours a day, I think the role would suit him.”

Del Piero and Ancelotti worked together at Juventus for one and a half years, but the Italian tactician failed to bring any trophy to Turin, finishing second in Serie A in 1999-00 after a famous defeat at the Stadio Curi in Perugia in the final match of the season.
