Max Allegri insists “I’m not worried” by Juventus’ 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday but admits “we need to be more careful defensively.”

Goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen condemned Juve to their third friendly defeat of preseason and ensured they ended it with no clean sheets, but Allegri was unfazed by the result.

“I’m not worried. We’ve worked hard in the last few days,” he said after the game.

“I’m not worried. We’ve worked hard in the last few days,” he said after the game.

“We did some good things. It’s true that defeats like these are bad, but we must look at the positives.

“We need to be more careful defensively and we have to work hard because the Italian League is always won by the team with the best defence.

“The team are fine, they’ve improved physically. Douglas Costa? It was the first game that he started.

“He played well until he came off and can have the same excuses as everyone else.”
