Massimiliano Allegri urges Juventus to turn their focus back to Serie A, even if “two injury time incidents” knocked them out of the Champions League.

The Bianconeri were 3-0 up in the Bernabeu last night, with the match heading for extra-time, when Michael Oliver deemed Medhi Benatia had fouled Lucas Vazquez and awarded a penalty.

“The referee whistled for this penalty, unfortunately we were eliminated for that reason,” Allegri told JTV.

“We can say that to injury time incidents, the one here and the one in Turin [a penalty not given on Juan Cuadrado], decided the qualification.

“It’s normal to be disappointed and bitter, we have tonight and tomorrow to let off steam amongst ourselves, but after that we have to think about the end of the season, the league to be won.

Napoli are still waiting for a misstep from us, but on Sunday we have an important match [against Sampdoria] which would allow us to stay ahead of Napoli, with six games to the end.

“On Sunday we really need everyone, from the stadium to the fans, because it’s a match we need to take home.”
