According to the English newspaper, the 50-year-old tactician from Livorno has his sights set on a Premier League stint and it could be as early as next term.

Wenger has been on the Gunners bench for 22 years, but the campaign to push him towards the exit is gathering steam after another poor season.

Allegri is under contract with Juventus until June 2020, but is continuing to learn English and remains on the Arsenal wish-list if Wenger does move on.

This week, Allegri impressed English fans at Wembley when Juve knocked Tottenham Hotspur out of the Champions League with a 2-1 result in London.
