"Sneijder is worthy of the Ballon d'Or," noted the tactician. "I have no doubts about that when I consider what he did for Inter last season."

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri insists Wesley Sneijder deserves the Golden Ball, while he's given his opinion on the Ronaldinho-Antonio Cassano swap rumours.

The Dutchman, a summer signing from Real Madrid, won the treble with the Nerazzurri and also reached the World Cup Final with his national team.

Sneijder is a leading contender for the prize having been named in the initial short-list for the France Football honour.

Turning to the transfer speculation suggesting that the benched Ronaldinho could move to Sampdoria in return for the frozen out Cassano, Allegri dismissed that option outright.

"It's fantasy football," he noted. "I'm happy to have Ronaldinho at my disposal. Even if there isn't much space for him now, he is an important player for us.

"As for Cassano, I don't know how that case will end. But he is a very important player for Italian football."

Allegri is a happy man right now given that he won his first Milanese derby last night with the Rossoneri's 1-0 triumph over Inter.

"We already have high self esteem, but the derby win has improved our morale," he added. "It'll do us good in the League and in the Champions League.

"It was a great feeling last night and I'm happy because I saw that my side wanted to win at all costs.

"But having a six point advantage over Inter means nothing expect the fact that Milan are working well."
