Max Allegri explains why he dropped Federico Chiesa for Kenan Yildiz against Verona and notes it is ‘difficult to keep up with an extraordinary’ Inter side.

It kicks off at the Stadio Bentegodi at 17.00 GMT.

“The team worked well during the week and of course Vlahovic is back,” Allegri told DAZN.

“I saw the players concentrated and eager to get back to winning ways. All teams can go through a negative period, now it is our turn, but we are here to turn the ship around and get a result.”

Federico Chiesa disappointed in the 1-0 home defeat to Udinese, so he is benched in favour of teenage sensation Kenan Yildiz.

“It is a technical decision, due to the characteristics of our opponent,” insisted the coach.

“Chiesa is available, he had 75 positive minutes and will give us a hand when he is called into action.”

Inter thrashed Salernitana 4-0 last night and put themselves 10 points clear at the top of the table, having played as many games as Juventus and third-placed Milan.

“We are 10 points off a team who are doing extraordinary things, because an average of 2.7 points per game is extraordinary. It is difficult to keep up with a side like that.

“We made mistakes in our last two home matches, we must put all that behind us and remember there are another 42 points up for grabs. I want Juventus to get back on track.”
