Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri says a misunderstanding led to Stephan Lichtsteiner’s angry reaction to being substituted.

Marko Pjaca was preparing to come on during the win over Inter, but instead Dani Alves replaced the Swiss full-back.

Lichtsteiner was furious with the decision, and berated his Coach on the touchline, but it appears it was only a misunderstanding.

“It’s all cleared up with Stephan,” Allegri explained in his Press conference ahead of the Crotone match.

“There was a misunderstanding, he raised his hand and I thought he wanted to come off because he was dead. Then Dani Alves came on and things fitted.”

Allegri had two spells with Pescara in his playing career, and was asked about the arson attack on President Daniele Sebastiani.

“It left a bad impression on me, because these things shouldn’t happen in life, but especially in football.

“Unfortunately it’s not easy to win, it’s not easy to stay in Serie A. Pescara is a beautiful place to be, a very civilised city.

“They’re in a very difficult period, but even if they had to go down they’d always have the opportunity of coming back up to Serie A.

“I’m very attached to Pescara, and I regret that this thing happened because it gives a bad impression of the city.

“The city isn’t that at all though. Pescara are at the bottom of the table, and I’d like to see them in another position.”
