Having initially hung up his boots in 2015 after a hip injury, the Frenchman returned to the game after successful surgery.

However, having failed to find a club, the ex-Biancocelesti man has decided to focus on his music career.

Having initially hung up his boots in 2015 after a hip injury, the Frenchman returned to the game after successful surgery.

However, having failed to find a club, the ex-Biancocelesti man has decided to focus on his music career.

“I loved being a footballer, and so far the ball has been my life,” Cissé told Yahoo Sport.

“I would have liked to continue playing but I must admit today that football is over.

“It is with the same passion that I will devote myself to music, fashion and Yahoo Sport. I will devote myself wholeheartedly to my career as a DJ, producer and consultant, as well as developing my clothing brand.

“Thank you all for your support, the adventure continues and another life begins. A lion never dies.”

Cissé joined Lazio in July 2011 for a fee of €5.8m, but managed just one Serie A goal before being sold to Queens Park Rangers in the January transfer window.
