Massimiliano Allegri “really hopes” Alexandre Pato stays and ignores Carlos Tevez questions, as Milan have an injury crisis against Atalanta.

The Rossoneri returned from their winter training camp in Dubai, but continue to have their attention dominated by transfer gossip.

“I really hope Pato stays at Milan, as he’d be a precious ‘new’ January signing, seeing as in the first half of the season he had so many injuries,” said the Coach.

“There is no problem between us and I hope he doesn’t leave. Of course there are always going to be rumours in the media, but we have to work hard and try to ignore it all.

“That also goes for Tevez, as I have not spoken to Adriano Galliani about the transfer market. For now Tevez is a Manchester City player and I do not talk about players from other teams. If he arrives, then I’ll think about him, but for now he’s not even remotely in my thoughts.”

Allegri has other issues to contend with, as Massimo Ambrosini is suspended, while Alberto Aquilani joined Ignazio Abate, Clarence Seedorf, Gennaro Gattuso and Mathieu Flamini on the treatment table for Sunday’s Lombardy derby against Atalanta.

“I only have Mark Van Bommel, Antonio Nocerino and Kevin-Prince Boateng for midfield. I can use either Robinho or Urby Emanuelson in the trequartista role. As for the full-backs, I could play both Daniele Bonera and Gianluca Zambrotta, but I have to evaluate the situation.

“It is going to be a tough game against an Atalanta side who so far have picked up 26 points, the same as Inter. Playing in Bergamo is never easy and this team reflects the characteristics of Coach Stefano Colantuono.”
