The Bianconeri face Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League tomorrow night and are looking for a third straight win in the competition.

“Pogba didn’t play very well in the first half on Sunday,” Allegri said of the 0-0 draw with Inter.

“After the break he did decidedly better, but it’s not a problem anyway. This is a period in which he has to find himself and start doing the simple things again, the ones he knows how to do so well. I tell him this all the time.

“He is an important player for Juventus, a player who has to give us a great deal and I expect a lot from him too.”

Khedira has brought more experience to midfield since arriving as a free agent from Real Madrid.

“You just need to see how Khedira is on the field, a player who on a tactical and technical level is among the best in Europe.

“He was extraordinary, as was Andrea Barzagli, on Sunday against Inter. Maybe at times you don’t even realise he’s there, but he makes very few mistakes, is always in the right place at the right time, plays well technically and always keeps it simple.

“He is a player who still needs to improve his fitness levels, because he’s barely featured this season, but he’s an international level star.”
