“One thing I’ve learned at Juventus is that you have to prepare for every match the same way,” Alex Sandro told Tuttosport.

“Frosinone, Napoli, Bayern Munich… it makes no difference. The mentality at Juve is simple: a straight line that leads to victory.

“If we win we can go above Napoli, and that’s extra motivation.

“Bayern Munich? They’re a strong team, but any team can be beaten, especially if you’re Juventus. They have a squad of champions, and we do too.

“I’ve encountered the strongest players in my career here at Juventus. We’ll play to win.”

The Brazilian full-back then discussed some of his teammates, singling out his left-back rival Patrice Evra for particular praise.

“I’ve always admired Evra the footballer, because he was always at the top. I got to know the person here, and he’s exceptional.

“We’ve become friends, he’s a motivator for the whole dressing room. He helped me understand what the Coach [Max Allegri] wants from a full-back.

“Paulo Dybala? I think he can be compared to [Barcelona’s] Neymar. Paulo has the same style of shooting and he can become like Neymar.

“He still needs to grow, but he’s impressive. He has a good head on his shoulders and the mentality of a champion.”
