With Italy preparing to face Costa Rica on Friday in a Group D fixture in Recife set for a 1pm local time kick-off, the FIGC’s Vice-President hopes that official breaks will be allowed.
“The referee against England thankfully gave the players time to hydrate during breaks in play, but we hope that in the next two games there will be time-outs,” Albertini has commented this week.
“The regulation provides certain parameters but that are very general – certain requirements have to be taken into consideration.
“In Manaus when the doctor decided not to include time-outs, the humidity was acceptable.
“But then in the field it almost certainly had risen above 78 per cent.
“We are concerned about the [Costa Rica] game being played at 1pm.”
